Gretchen McLaine received her BA in Dance from Winthrop University, her MA in Dance from American University, her Ph.D. in Human Development from Marywood University, and holds certifications in Labanotation. Dr. McLaine has previously taught at American University, the University of Oklahoma, and DeSales University, and has served as a teacher, choreographer, director, and performer throughout the United States. She presented her original research at the Performing Arts Medical Association Annual Symposium (2000), the Dance Kinesiology Teachers’ Conference (2011) and the National Dance Education Organization’s conferences (2000, 2005, 2006 and 2011). She created and oversees the department's Dance major and is Director of Student Initiatives for NDEO.
